Petition to Remove Laverne Cox from "Orange is the New Black"

Please sign the petition and share widely!

I signed the petition, but I'm confused as to how many signatures are needed. I thought we only needed 1,000 signatures which we already have. Now, it says we need to have 1,500 signatures.

I thought all we needed was 1,000 signatures which we have now. What is going on?

Hi SkyLark,'s petitions are set-up in such a way that once you get to the "goal" number, they keep increasing the number, so as to not have a "max out" where people can no longer sign.

It's pretty much up to the petition creator to decide when it would be a good number of signatures to send it off to the corporations targeted (in this case, Lionsgate Television, Tilted Productions, and Netflix).

So my question is, what's a good number? What makes an impact? 5,000? 10,000? I am honestly hoping for at least 5000 signatures, but with the media blackout surrounding these types of issues regarding the types of causes transgender people are willing to support.

There is no time limit on the petition, but of course it makes more of an impact to say that the petition got 10,000 signatures in a month, as opposed to 10,000 signatures in a year.

Incomplete thought here: " I am honestly hoping for at least 5000 signatures, but with the media blackout surrounding these types of issues regarding the types of causes transgender people are willing to support."

I meant to say I am honestly hoping for at least 5000 signatures, but with the media blackout surrounding these types of issues regarding the types of causes transgender people are willing to support (in this case, Laverne Cox's endorsement of Synthia China Blast), it's more difficult to give this petition the attention and signatures it needs.

Last thing I want is for this issue to get swept under the rug as if nothing happened. And Laverne tried very hard to cover up shortly after the petition was launched.

When people learn all the facts, I'm sure they would be glad to sign the petition. I think somewhere between 2,000 to 5,000 signatures sounds good. What ball park number do other people think is good?

During the time that Morales was involved in gangs and selling crack on the streets, he wasn't 'trans'. In court, he stated, "But whatever happens here today, I'll take it like a man." Who is Luis Morales aka Synthia China Blast? The large tattoo on his face is to pay homage to his prison “husband”, copycat Zodiac killer, who is serving 235 years in prison for his murdering rampage and threats. Of all the men Morales could have picked in prison for a little jail house romance, Morales chose the copycat Zodiac killer Seda. I think this says a lot about his overall character. Also, the fact that the judge berated Morales for smirking in court while standing trial for torturing and killing a 13 year old girl.

“A Bronx mother yesterday berated two members of the Latin Kings gang for smirking while standing trial for torturing and killing her 13-year-old daughter. Yvonne Hill then nodded approvingly when the men were sentenced to life in prison for murdering Ebony Williams. “Ever since the trial was going on, all I see is Luis Morales grinning and Carlos Franco, too,” Hill said. “You ain’t smiling today. I hope you both rot in hell.

” Morales, 22, and Franco, 24, appeared unmoved as Bronx Supreme Court Justice Martin Marcus sentenced them to 25 years to life for the 1993 slaying. Bronx Prosecutor William Hrabsky said the two held the girl captive in a Hunts Point apartment, Morales raping her and repeatedly slashing her body. Franco was charged with killing the girl after breaking her neck. “The suffering that this poor child went through is beyond belief and puts this crime in the category of monstrous and barbarous,” Hrabsky said.

Investigators said the men shoved Ebony’s body into a box and dumped it on the Sheridan Expressway at E. 165th St., where it was set on fire. They later bragged about the crime to friends, many of whom testified against them. ”

What has Luis Morales been doing while he is incarcerated? If we want to know his character, just look at who he picks as his prison “husband”. This article is about the prison romance between the copycat Zodiac Killer and Morales (Synthia China Blast).

” In October 2002, Blast was sent to Attica, “where I met my friend, lover and infamous husband . . . the NYC Zodiac Serial Killer,” he wrote. Seda, 37, is serving a 235-year prison term for a violent 1990-93 spree when he threatened to kill one person for each of the 12 Zodiac signs. He is believed to have been copying California’s unsolved Zodiac killings. Blast – born Luis Morales – says guards at Attica allowed him to get a Scorpion tattoo on his face, signifying the month of his marriage to Seda last June. “I can honestly say that my sweet serial killer is a lady’s man now,” Blast wrote. “Only if I was a real woman I could bring about little future serial killers to terrorize NYC like my husband did. How [New Yorkers] would of loathed the Zodiac Children.

If Morales was a real woman, he states, “Only if I was a real woman I could bring about little future serial killers to terrorize NYC like my husband did. How [New Yorkers] would of loathed the Zodiac Children.”

Apparently, the prison romance between Morales and the copycat Zodiac killer was interrupted when Morales was transferred to another prison.

Women need to know what the Sylvia Rivera Law Project has been doing. I think we can all agree that any prisoner deserves nourishing food, basic health care, adequate housing, and to be treated with dignity. Having said this, men who are convicted of murdering women shouldn’t get taxpayer funded female hormones or sex reassignment surgery. They don’t deserve the honor of being called women much less taxpayer funded plastic surgery on their genitals.

(1.) The Sylvia Rivera Law Project believes that men who are convicted of murdering women deserve tax payer funded sex reassignment surgery and hormones. Indeed, by the way they talk, it’s some sort of civil right. If males can get plastic surgery while incarcerated to feel “feminine” inside, then female inmates should get tax payer funded breast implants and other cosmetic surgery to feel more “feminine” and womanly. Who is to say that these women don’t suffer emotionally because their bodies don’t match up with how they feel inside. It’s an injustice.

The Sylvia Rivera law project supports men like Kosilk who killed his wife by strangling her with a piece of piano wire, nearly decapitating her. Kosiliek who received a life sentence is 60 years old. Why does a 60 year old lifer like Kosilek need sex reassignment surgery?

Cox must have known that Robert, "Michelle", Kosilek was convicted of murdering his wife. Cox refers to sex reassignment surgery (cosmetic surgery) for convicted murderers who kill women as "life affirming surgery". According to Cox, it just needs to be "reframed" and "humanized" in way that doesn't make it sound so revolting to the average person, and an insult to the family of the murdered woman. A man murders his wife and he expects tax payers to pay for sex reassignment surgery and female hormones. No, most people have problems with it. I can certainly see why Cox thinks it needs to be "reframed".

In the Amy Goodman interview Aisha Williams is a Staff Attorney with the Sylvia Rivera Law Project, and the Director of SRLP’s Prisoner Justice Project. SRLP believes that it is every man’s right to legally change gender regardless of crimes committed.

If people read this interview, it's clear that Cox agrees with the SRLP prison project's opinion that men who murder women should be entitled to what he describes as "life affirming surgery". Even if the convicted murderer is 60 years old like Kosilek.

"Nor did Cox stop to consider how does Cheryl’s family feel about her killer assuming the identity of a woman after killing a real woman so brutally. Cox also did not pause to ask if Koselik would be housed with female prisoners after his SRS and would that be a violation of their human rights to be housed with a predatory male. Cox’s only concern seemed to be validating SRS as a medical procedure that all people who ID as trans are entitled too. But in the context of talking about SRS for a violent male who has killed women, this means a woman’s murderer being allowed to legally assume the gender of his victim and be called “she”. Frankly, it seems self serving on Cox’s part and completely erases not only Cheryl, the woman killed, but all women as we are never considered as people who might have opinions about a woman killer being granted the legal status of “she” by other men."

Men who are convicted of murdering or raping women, or molesting a female child do not deserve the honor of being called women. Taxpayers should not have to pay for female hormones for convicted male murderers.

(2.) In addition to supporting convicted killers of women, the Sylvia Rivera Law Project believes that violent males should be placed in correctional facilities for females. If the Sylvia Rivera Law Project had its way, the violent adolescent male known as “Jane Doe” would still be in a facility for girls where he could terrorize and seriously harm a female. The families of the teenage girls and the female staff members should all be grateful that the State of Connecticut finally came to its senses and placed this violent young man in a juvenile facility for boys before he seriously injured or killed a girl or female correctional officer.

The male juvenile offender known as “Jane Doe” was placed in several facilities for girls, and eventually an adult women’s prison, but he kept assaulting girls and staff. The State of Connecticut finally threw up its hands and placed him in a juvenile facility for boys.

Who speaks for the girls and female staff that he repeatedly assaulted?

“…November 2013 pleaded guilty to assault on an officer”

“Director of CJTS testified there were eleven occasions in which police were called to either a facility or program regarding an incident with the respondent.”

“A supervisor from juvenile detention center in Bridgeport stated the respondent exhibited assaultive behaviors toward staff members, other juveniles….The supervisor stated that her behavior was more severe than other residents.

….CJTS director…specific behaviors that make the respondent especially dangerous and difficult to secure: an inability to de-escalate, targeting of female staff, and smearing feces……”…”The respondent then ripped at her (female correctional officer) and bit her, leaving puncture wounds. All three fell to the ground, after which the respondent, wearing army boots kicked and assaulted the staff member in the head, arm, face, and ear. The assaulted officer believes she was kicked six times. She estimated that the respondent weighed approximately 180 pounds and stood five foot eight inches compared to her 135 pounds and five foot five inches..”

The Sylvia Rivera Law Project only thought of “Jane Doe”.

Join Justice for Jane with the following demands

Connecticut Department of Corrections:

Do not violate “Jane Doe’s” protected status as a transgender woman by transferring her to a male facility.

Transgender activists pulled out everything to “free Jane Doe”, and they said that he wasn’t convicted of anything. Their media p.r. team flew into a tizzy portraying poor, misunderstood “Jane Doe” as the victim. Read the actual court documents. “Jane Doe” plead guilty in November 2013 for assault on an officer. He was sent to an adult women’s prison because they didn’t know what to do with him. He continued to get into fights everywhere he went. The Department of Corrections finally came to its senses before he killed a girl or female guard. They finally sent him to a juvenile facility for boys.

Have women figured this out by now? It's always about THEM.

I have a great idea for another petition.

If found guilty of first degree murder of three women, Douglas, "Donna", Perry SHOULD SERVE HIS TIME IN A MEN'S PRISON.

It's going to really upset people if this dangerous sociopath (he served time on federal weapons charges because he was in possession of a pipe bomb, 49 firearms, and 20,000 rounds of ammunition) is sent to a women's prison.

Is he housed with female inmates now? This is not acceptable.

Douglas, "Donna", Perry is currently being tried in Washington State. Would someone have to live in Washington to start a petition saying if he is found guilty for first degree cold blooded murder of three women, he should serve time in a men's prison.

Douglas, "Donna" still had his male genitalia when the alleged crimes occurred. So, if convicted, he should serve time in a men's prison.

I bet you could get 50,000 plus names on a petition saying that Douglas Perry needs to serve his time in a men's prison.

This is the Affidavit in the Douglas, "Donna", Perry case.

If sex is the same as "gender identity" as we are repeatedly told, then hate crimes should be tacked onto the three first degree murder charges. Washington State has hate crimes laws.

Superior Court, County of Spokane #14100190-9
Donna Rebecca Perry aka Douglas Robert Perry

Charged with the following crimes:

Statement of Investigating Officer
Affidavit of Facts
Superior Court, County of Spokane

Filed January 14, 2014

Interview at Carswell

On 06/19/13 Det. Dresback and Det Burbridge interviewed (blank) in an office at FMC Carswell in Fort Worth, Texas. (blank) was a cell mate of Donna Perry who had been sentenced to 18 months in federal prison for Unlawful Possession of Firearms...Perry explained to (blank) that the reason Perry killed these women was because Perry couldn't breed and the women had the ability to have children and they were wasting it being “pond scum”.

In most states, first-degree murder is defined as an unlawful killing that is both willful and premeditated, It involves a wanton disregard for human life.
If found guilty of the first degree murder of three women, what were Perry’s motives? There was no rational reason to kill these three women. These women were murdered because of their gender and reproductive capacity as biological females. Perry was intensely jealous because the murder victims had the ability to have children and he didn’t. They were wasting their female reproductive capacity to have children by being “pond scum”. Apparently, Perry is the only one who has the right to judge which females should procreate and which females are unworthy “pond scum” who deserve to be murdered and dumped beside a river bank.

The autopsy itself is further proof that the murders were depraved acts based on irrational hatred towards the victims. Ms. Brisbois suffered repeated blows to the head causing skull fractures. She also had broken ribs and three gunshot wounds. All this definitely demonstrates a level of excessive deadly force and depraved over kill.

I've always supported the inclusion of transgender identified persons in hate crimes legislation, but why does it only go one way? The only time violence against a woman is considered a hate crime is if the woman is male. If someone murdered three transwomen because they were "pond scum", trans attorneys would be all over it demanding hate crimes be tacked onto the murder charges. If "gender identity" is the same thing as sex, then this WAS A HATE CRIME. People are making the false assumption that Perry always "felt like a woman" whatever that is supposed to mean. In reality, he hated women and saw them as "pond scum" because they could have children and he couldn't.

I say tack hate crimes to the three murder charges. This could be another petition.

Sorry for all the long posts...
